How to read it
- Watch number: the three-digit number Renata, Energizer and Rayovac print on the cell. In Renata’s cross reference, Energizer’s and Rayovac’s number is the same as Renata’s for every cell they make.
- SR code: the code Renata lists for Maxell, Panasonic, Murata and Toshiba. Two numbers of one size, such as 357 and 303, have two codes, SR44W and SR44SW. The short SR code is the two-digit name Energizer prints for seven of them.
- Size: diameter x height in millimeters, as Renata prints it for silver oxide and as the largest size on Energizer’s drawing for alkaline cells.
In the makers’ sheets we read, every LR code is an alkaline cell and every SR code a silver oxide one. Energizer and GP list their alkaline LR44 as a replacement for the silver oxide 357, 303 and SR44; LR44 battery equivalent covers that swap. For any other code, use the battery equivalent finder.
